Delicious food with a friendly and incredible staff. I've been to Santiago's twice now and absolutely loved both experiences. Love the decor and vibe, it's like a small hideaway/haven in a busy area.
Delicous !! Great service it just takes a little long. They really created a beautiful atmosphere in a small space. The place was a tad bit cold I really wish they could have accommodated us as the AC was hitting us the whole time.. other than that it was great !
Santiago's Beer Garden: Where Flavor and Fun Collide! Step into Santiago's Beer Garden, and you'll find yourself in a foodie paradise where every bite tells a delicious story! From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch - friendly, attentive, and always with a smile. The vibe at Santiago's is pure relaxation - the perfect spot to unwind with friends and enjoy some fantastic food and drinks. The laid-back atmosphere sets the stage for a memorable dining experience that you won't soon forget. Now, let's talk about the food - oh, the food! We started with the MOFONGUITOS DE BISTEC, a mouthwatering dish that combined the crunch of tostones with the savory goodness of steak, onions, and peppers, all topped with creamy mayo ketchup. Each bite was packed with flavor and even though this was an appetizer I had it as a main dish and it was very filling ! Next up, we dove into the TRIO DE EMPANADAS - a delightful trio of cheese, chicken, and beef empanadas that were crispy on the outside and packed with delicious fillings on the inside. It was the perfect snack to share with your drink ! And finally, the SANCOCHO stole the show - a hearty soup with beef, chicken, and pork, served with a side of avocado. The rich flavors went together beautifully, and leaving us feeling completely satisfied. In conclusion, Santiago's Beer Garden is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to indulge in fantastic food, great service, and a chill atmosphere. Whether you're a foodie looking for your next culinary adventure or just craving a delicious meal with friends, Santiago's has got you covered. Cheers to good times and even better eats!
Decided to try Santiago's after reading reviews and seeing the delicious food pics! I ordered the Pernil plate with the coconut rice. The plate came out luke warm overall and the rice was kinda dry and the beans in the rice was also hard and dry. I informed the waiter that the rice was dry and asked for some beans to go with it, which helped. But the side of beans was $7 or $8 which I thought was way overpriced, especially since it was mostly bean sauce - it was very soupy. I will probably try the white rice with beans next time. The saving grace was that the plantains we ordered were delicious and also the pernil was excellent. We also ordered tres leches cake, which was pretty good. We liked the ambience, although the music was a little loud and the chairs were not the most comfortable. It has a great vibe though, and the staff is friendly. My uncle also loved his oxtail plate!
I came here with my wife on a Friday afternoon. It was semi-busy, but were able to get a seat right away. From the start we were amazed by the vibe of the restaurant as well as the temperature, it felt refreshing just being inside. The music was also great. The one comment is that it can be loud due to the volume of people. The hostess was nice and we started with the mofonguitos and drinks. Both were delicious and would recommend trying both. As for the main course, I got the pernil with coconut rice and it was blown away. I normally don't get impressed with the food of my people, but here, the taste was there at every spoonful. The pernil was tender and delicious. The dessert was good. I would come back, 11/10!
The other day I wanted to grab #lunch and decided to try out Santiago's bc we were in the area plus I've seen so many friends have dined here before. I will say the vibe is definitely chill around lunch time (which was perfect for a weekday afternoon). . Here are my take away: - There's always a drink/cocktail special of sorts no matter the day (just check the times before heading there) - The portions are sized well , I didn't think I would be full but I left out so full and I didn't get dessert - I have no complaints about my dish, I would have to go back and try more but the seafood I tried was on point - They have lunch specials Mon-Thursday (limited entrees are cheaper) - Let's go back to the cocktails: THEY ARE STRONG, we got the 'Santiago's punch' and I didn't expect anything of it bc of the soju but I def got punched w/ alcohol when I took my first sip - The staff is definitely attentive and helpful w menu questions - Make reservations bc it will get packed w big groups - For days that are not super hot out there may be a bit of a chill heads up
The vibes here are immaculate and I can't think of any better location these days for spontaneous day drinking. I have felt for some time that East Harlem is one of the city's most underrated food neighborhoods, with a mix of new hipster entrants and long time Dominican, Mexican and Borinquen stalwarts. We sat out in the garden and enjoyed cocktails, which all packed a punch - I had the soju caipirinha. We shared the empanadas and plantain fries, which were both excellent - the plantain fries had an almost mochi-like texture. We also split one mofongo plate which came with a side of one of my Dominican favorites, slices of fried cheese reminiscent of paneer.
Santiago's Beer Garden specializes in authentic Dominican comfort food. The dishes made me feel so at home! The overall vibe of this place is, let's say, so aesthetically pleasing!! plenty of photo opportunities to take for my creators out there! What we had: Bottomless Mimosas (with Pineapple Juice) Santa's Hat Peppermint Twist Jason's Fishing Boat Empanadas Trio Steak and Eggs Santiago's Brunch Sampler Shoutout to: Our server Carolina was amazing! She was welcoming from the moment we entered the restaurant and took care of us entirely. She made great food and drink recommendations. My experience here was a 10 out of 10!!
